Welcome to AI for the Soul

AI for the Soul

Christian website exploring the intersection of Faith and Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents challenges and opportunities for the 2.3 billion Christians worldwide.

The Bible does not directly mention AI, as it was written long before the concept of AI or modern technology existed. However, the Bible addresses themes relevant to the discussion of AI, such as the nature of humanity, the role of knowledge and wisdom, the use of tools, creation, and ethical considerations.

AI for the Soul aims to support and foster informed decision-making for the followers of Jesus Christ. We want people to engage with the topic of AI with confidence and look at this through a faith-based lens.

Help shape the future

Is AI a threat to Christianity? Is it just another set of tools gifted from God, granted under common grace, to be used for good and wise purposes? Should you use AI to write sermons? How should Christians navigate the ethical implications of AI, particularly in areas like privacy, and data security? How can we stop AI being used in ways that contradicts Christian ethics?

AI for the Soul aims to help you learn more about key topics.

Genesis 1:26-27
(Humanity Created in God's Image)

Then God said, 'Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

Proverbs 1:7
(The Value of Wisdom)

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction."

Genesis 11:1-9
(The Tower of Babel)

This story about the construction of a tower to reach the heavens, and God's subsequent scattering of people and confounding of their language, can be interpreted as a cautionary tale about human pride and the limits of human ambition. Can this be applied to modern technological endeavors like AI?

Embracing AI will be an event hosted by ENGAGE Work Faith.

Will AI replace us? - our creativity, our jobs, our common sense? What makes us uniquely human? Do we embrace it warmly or cautiously? Could the Bible itself unlock a wisdom to navigate this rapidly changing world of technology despite being written before AI was even developed?

The upcoming AI event will involve over 100+ people. Stephen Driscoll, the author of Made in Our Image and a pastor, and myself and Luke Heffernan will be on the panel.
Adelaide FaithTech Chapter, 26th September 2024 was great fun!

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Ephesians 2:10

We will host a panel session to listen to representatives of organisations that work in Kingdom-aligned initiatives and help those in need.

This will help our group form a strategic plan and roadmap of how we can use our gifts to humbly support those who help others.
